Follow-up Comment #6, bug #44916 (project octave):

OK, so it seems to me that if the EPS files are incorrect, then the problem is
in gl2ps or some other part of the process of generating the PS file.  I'm not
sure how to debug this problem.

I haven't been able to reproduce the problem, even on a Windows system.  But
you say that the behavior is somewhat random, so I suppose that it is possible
that I simply need to run the script multiple times to show the problem.
