Follow-up Comment #9, bug #53704 (project octave):
I ran Octave on the console and it did segfault...even with the --norc option.
The CLI version does not fail. Should the GUI start upon invoking Octave?
The only way to get a GUI is to run octave --gui
The default behavior a few months ago was to start up in the GUI.
