Follow-up Comment #10, bug #53704 (project octave):
It's confirmatory. The library where the segfault is originating is being
linked in indirectly through Qt. The CLI version of Octave doesn't link
against Qt and avoids the problem.
When you say you ran Octave on the console, does that mean you went to the
remote machine and ran a console on it and it failed?
