Hi JohnI cannot help you with the octave sources but I would love to have a way to remote control any octave process. If you know matlab you probably know about the C engine functions. Implementing such an API could be the basis for any gui front-end or application that wants to embed octave code. I decided to help or start coding a simple java front-end for octave similar to the one in matlab. The idea is to display workspace variables, the current directory and provide a decent help browser. Later one could add plot formatting and data import functionality. Of course, I do not want to reinvent the wheel. Therefore my questions to everyone subscribed: are there any gui front-end projects running at the moment?
Bernd
