Installing Msys with Msys1.0.11.exe requires administrator privileges.
However this is perhaps for clean uninstalling by windows control panel.
Msys+MinGW (with GCC) can work in a USB stick, if the drive name of USB drive
is properly set in the
..../etc/fstab setting.
I sometimes use Msys+MinGW in usb for use unixy commands and GCC in other
computer. It requires to
modify drive name in ..../etc/fstab
e:/MinGW/ /mingw
,
f:/MinGW /mingw
or
g:/MinGW /mingw
:
:
I always set the above manually. It is possible to get current drive with small
program and modify it
by sed of non-msys version.
However I did not try it.
