Once upon a time i wrote an interface to the meshing tools provided by freefem++.
For those interested you can download it from:

Unfortunately it is far away from being a regular "toolbox", but it works and is relatively well
documented.

The Octave-forge package 'msh' offers a similar interface to gmsh

maybe you could have a look into trying to integrate your triangulation functions
in that package in order to offer an additional choice for a backend?
