I agree with both cases. As you see, I have "list replies preferred" in
my sig, but there are times when an off-list/off-group reply is more
appropriate, and having the ability to do so when using PAN, either on a
conventional group, or thru gmane's list2news gateway (which I use for all
my lists including this one), is functionality I'd definitely miss if it
were absent.
Still, as you say, it's rightly somewhat lower priority than to-newsgroup
reply functionality.
BTW, as someone else mentioned, the quote-forwarded behavior of PAN is
REALLY broken. Forwarded shouldn't be quoted, unless as a separate menu
choice. Code snippet breakage isn't a huge problem here, because when
I forward, it's usually simply to my mail account, which is where I
archive stuff I don't want to lose, and for that, quoting a code snippet
isn't a big deal as I can unquote it if necessary later, but it's /still/
broken behavior, whether it's a serious inconvenience for me, or not.
