If you can be sure they have expired.  One of the services I use gives
false "no such article" or "no such group" responses when the servers
get too busy.  As long as the failed task is still in the queue I can
keep hitting "restart" in the task manager until it works.  I've often
wished there was some way to tell Pan to retry failed tasks after a
certain interval.
