Huh,

At a first glance, I would remember two basic problems: firstly, the
size of the files in which we work with. MS would simply impossible if
everything would be put on RAM. Putting it in HD would slow everything
down. The second is actually a question: How is information regarding a
Song stored in Protux? In my imagination, the PRAF files are all kept
seperate (until the rendeer actions is taken), so I would imagine that
there was a "guide" file which tells Protux which PRAF files go at what
moment, with which filters are applied to them, am I right?

I think that understanding this would be the first thing we need to know
in order to begin this discussion. . . .Also, could someone please tell
me how other sound tools (and video tools for that matter) work in this
respect? I know that the GIMP works with the MS approach (at least in
its 1.2 series). And althought GIMP files can become quite big, its a
clumsy process when files become big. . . . Soundfourge also uses MS
approach (so, sometimes it takes AGES to undo things. . . )

RFC and awaiting response. . .
Fabio.
