A package was submitted to savannah.gnu.org.
This mail was sent to address@hidden, address@hidden

Matthew Alton <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: GNU Message Queueing System
System name: gnu-queue
This package wants to apply for inclusion in the GNU project

My project will produce a Free Software replacement for the IBM MQ Series
software as it exists for POSIX-compliant systems. The software will provide
guaranteed delivery of \"messages\" consisting of bitstreams of arbitrary
length and metadata. The software will consist of a set of server programs
which will implement the core message queueing functionality, a set of
administrative programs, and a library of subroutines constituting an
application programming interface. The server-related programs and API will be
coded in GNU C in compliance with the GNU Coding Standards. All software
components will be thoroughly documented in compliance with GNU documentation
standards and conventions.

The project is currently in an advanced planning phase. An early version of
the project which relied on multiple processes to achieve concurrency was
partially coded and then abandoned in favor of a multithreaded model.

For more information on the functionality of MQ Series (now called \"WebSphere
MQ\") please visit http://www-3.ibm.com/software/ts/mqseries/messaging.
