There are two problems: first, few people know how to push it (I don't, what I
tried didn't work), second, Savannah points to savane-cleanup as her source
code.

Then we should take a different repository, migrate to it and
adjust the pointers.

Yes. e.g. when I add some files, Savannah adds corresponding pages.
