Hello!
I found Hermann's patch, and it's extensive. What is the status of this
patch? It looks like it adds timer(s), but also adds a lot of other
stuff? Thanks.

That's the problem. It is a single patch which touches too much at
once. I'm very reluctant to commit a patch spanning so many features,
and frankly, I don't have the time to split it up and do the
incremental commits that need to be done. Also, I haven't even
considered the technical merit of the patch since it's too difficult
to review each of the features it adds on a feature by feature basis.

I'm working on a new patch at the moment that only contains the bitpos
things. The only part that won't use the new sytem is the timer as
there are to many changes in it. I'll include as few changes as possible
to make timer 0 work. When this patch is commited I'll go on to send a
new one for the timers and the add the remaining documentation changes.
The only problem I'm having is that some of my changes conflict with the
recent cvs updates. So expect the patch in the next two weeks.

Is is ok this way?

Hermann

P.S.: I've mailed this to your private emails, too, as some of my
messages did't appear on the list.
