The Human-Ecology Group at the Swiss Federal Institute for Environmental
Science and Technology (EAWAG) is a social science research organization
focussing on environmental problems.  Current projects are studying public
participation mechanisms in policy making, the role of social and
technical innovation in environmental policy, and theories of social action.


We are proud to announce that we have a vacancy for a:

social scientist or computer scientist

Specific Requirements:
- Basic knowledge in the social science analysis of technical innovation
and/or environmental politics
- Solid experience with object oriented programming, Unix and Macintosh
- Experience with programming in Swarm welcome
- interest in collaboration in interdisciplinary teams of natural and
social scientists.

Job Profile:
- Supporting the build up of a research group focused on the
computer-modelling of socio-technical innovation in the field of
environmental problems.
- Implementing simulation models under UNIX in an object oriented
programming environment.
- Hard- and Software support
- Start in November 1996 for one year, with possible extension.
- Standard scientist's salary of the Swiss Federal Institute of
Technology (ETH).
- Office based in the region of Zurich (Switzerland)
