It was? It shouldn't be. Some generators have a lot of state - a lot
more than one 32 bit number.
If you want to store the state of a generator and recover it later, it
should be done via the same persistent object support the rest of the
system has.
OTOH, if I understand your change to PMMLCG right, it probably doesn't
make any difference.
