Thanks.  Been to the mail archives and the FAQ and all the installation 
documentation such as it is.  In fact it was the mail archives that got me 
started down the wrong path.

I have come to the conclusion that my problems are due to having Tcl/Tk 
7.6/4.2 rather than 7.5/4.1 or even 7.4/4.0.  I was misled into believing 
that Swarm would work with 7.6/4.2 by a post I found in the mail archives.

Some things sort of work but with continuous spewing of errors, Heat Bugs, 
for example, appears to work but spews Tcl errors continuously.  The very 
simplest tutorial, OTOH, fails to run at all.

At any rate I'm digging around trying to decide if I want to make an 
attempt to make Swarm work with Tcl/Tk 7.6/4.2 or just go dig up a copy of 
7.5/4.1
