Drawing lines in Swarm Display

Hi,

It seems that Raster display only draws points and rectangles.  I would 
like to draw lines in the display window, connecting points together.  
How do I do that?  

Is Canvas an alternate way of displaying Swarm objects?  I found lines, 
circles, node items etc. that can be "attached" to Canvas (I think).  But 
I don't know how to display them or add color (line object doesn't seem 
to have color attribute attached to it).  Would canvas be of any help for 
displaying lines?
