First thing's first.  You need to debug why ZoomRaster isn't
working.  Outside of some weird optimization magic, the code
is not lying when it tells you that the zoom is "nonsquare".
Of course, I think it's a badly worded error.  But, nonetheless.

Could you use gdb and set a break point at the beginning of 
the handleConfigureWidth:Height: method?
