Just make sure it is one of them and not some older bitrot.

What bothers me about this is that you've given me several distinct 
symptoms.  One about ") not found" another, "te: not found", and a third
which was a silient failure.

What is the current error message you get when you run make in src/tkobjc?

Finally, to get a lot of information on what Cygwin32 is doing, you can 
run a system call trace.  It will take a long time, but it should reveal
what is happening.  

$ cd src/tkobjc
$ STRACE=7,log make

Please don't email it the list -- it will be way too big.
