On Redhat 5.1 on my Pentium 166, I have all glibc updates installed from
Redhat errata. I'm using the egcs that came with 5.1 I just compiled the test
program that Steve made
available (now in the swarmfaq, in case you want to test), and
here is what I see:
This calculates 1.0*pow(4,0.5)*1.0
Test 1: 2.000000e+00
This should produce the same result
Test 2: 2.000000e+00
So, from this what do I conclude? All's well in Paulsville?
When Marcus wrote that the glic problem had been addressed, I wasn't sure
what to conclude. Now I'm guessing
that it was addressed in the glibc update issued from redhat. Possible?
I'm only asking because my head got dizzy reading all this recent email
and I don't know what the FAQ answer ought to be.
