You don't need to be so mean about it.  You act like I'm a criminal for
saying E doesn't save window positions and warning people to use a
different window manager.  I didn't ask you to do anything. The last
time this came up, you made it clear you weren't interested in trying to
figure what is wrong with window manager X, Y, or Z.

I quit building E from their CVS about 2 months ago and deleted
everything about that project, so I have no clue which version worked. 
Since Raster quit at RedHat and they moved their act to VAResearch, I've
not been in their CVS.

So, as I said before, it is not something I am going to take the time to
fix and users should be warned that there is this problem with E so they
don't waste time trying to understand why Swarm does not save window
positions in the default RedHat gnome setup.

Incidentally, the test you mentioned a while ago does work in E:
$ wish8.0
% wm geometry .
200x200+557+524
