Here's another tool for diagnosing memory leaks:

This one is different in that:

  1) it has a GUI that lets you look around
  2) doesn't require special recompliation of a model
  3) however, it is specific to Linux kernel and glibc.
     (relies on /proc features and glibc malloc hooks)
