Hi folks,
I've searched through the old mailing list archives and the FAQ and didn't
find an answer to my question/problem regarding a colormap.
Q. How do I go about finding what color names (i.e. red, blue, etc.) are
defined in the color database?
The reason I ask is because I'm getting that problem that has been described
in past archives where the [setColor: c ToRed: r ToGreen: g ToBlue: b] is
just giving me the white color. I know I'm not having problems allocating
the colors (i.e. display is set to greater than 8 bit color) and based on
suggestions from the archive, Netscape and other color intensive apps are
not running during a execution of a Swarm app. Using the [setColor: c
ToName: colorName] seems to work fine, so I'm trying to find 18 unique color
names -- I'm short 5 besides the traditional common colors! =) Call it a
quick fix!
I'm running Swarm 2.0.1 on a Windows 95 and a Windows NT box. I've haven't
tried to see if the problem exists on a Linux box yet (maybe over the
weekend). I hope I haven't missed my answer in the archives, but if I have,
many apologies for the wasted bandwidth!
Cheers,
