[Swarm-Support] Ever see an assembly error while compiling Swarm?

I built gcc-3.3-2003-02-24 on a RH8.1 beta system and then tried to 
build Swarm out of cvs. It ended with an error that I cannot recall 
seeing before  (see below).  The last time I got nutty results, it 
turned out that gcc, not Swarm, was at fault, and so I guess I'll step 
back to the gcc snapshot which I am sure did work (2002-09-09), unless 
one of you folks tells me otherwise.
