At last...
Hello everybody,
today -again with massive help from Paul- I got Swarm up and running on
Slackware 8.1. The most important things I did in the end were: upgraded
tcl/tk from 8.3 to 8.4 (re)upgraded blt 2.4o to blt 2.4z and freshly
unpacked the Swarm source from
http://lark.cc.ku.edu/~pauljohn/Swarm/Swarm-2.2x_RH9.0/swarm-2.1.141.2002101
9-2RH9.0.src.rpm.
I configured with:
JAVAC=jikes ../configure --prefix=/home/jan/swarm-2.1.141
--with-default-dir=/usr/local --enable-subdirs --with-hdfdir=/usr/local/hdf5
--with-jdkdir=/usr/share/j2sdk-1.4.1_02
Then I build in a separate build directory within the Swarm directory with
gcc 3.3 20020909 (Paul's rpms) with this
make EXTRACPPFLAGS=-DMETHOD_FUNCTIONS EXTRALDFLAGS=-static-libgcc
JAVAC=/usr/bin/jikes
After exporting the PATH, SWARMHOME and CLASSPATH variables I was able to
run heatbugs and the Kenge toolkit of Paul Box.
Tanks for all help so far
Jan
