BTW maybe it is a good time to also look why the temp files are not always deleted after PSPP ends in MSWindows? I didn't check, but as far as I know the problem is still there.

Here's a new patch.  It has no diagnostics, but I'm hopefull that it
will have fixed the problem, and that it'll allow procedures to be
executed within a more reasonable timeframe.

Harry:  Can you please build a windows binary.
