To be more specific:
Using the command line, the temp file and the temp file directory are deleted on exit: first, when SHOW ALL is used, a directory is created; then, when running FREQUENCIES, one (1) file is created that is not deleted when FREQUENCIES finishes running; then, when I quit pspp, the folder is deleted. Using psppire, on a sufficiently large database (my 51475 case database -- no temp files are created for my 13157 case database): first, when FREQUENCIES is run, a temp directory is created with two (2) files; then the second file "1" is deleted when FREQUENCIES finishes running; then, when I quit psppire, file "0" is deleted but the folder remains. An empty temp directory is created when you use SHOW ALL. Files are created when (very) large datasets are processed. So are you sure there where temp files created? These files are present during the processing. {HT} |
