I also think that promotion is important and, agreeing with you, I'm
sure that PR can be quite a frank stuff, not necessarily attempting to
propagate something bloated.

Indeed, having the wiki in git is considerably more comfortable (and
faster, BTW) then doing web commits.  Also, it helps keep things in
order :-)
