Same for me - I have uncounted concepts for improved p2p networks in my 
(analog) notebook, but most of them were never realized. Some few did bring 
small fruits, though :) 

(I also contribute to Gnutella, especially the Phex: http://phex.org ) 

I try to at least bring some of them online, so people can benefit from them - 
if only to use them as base to create still better concepts.
