Wrt the doc: Is it about "mouse click" or
"mouse press"?

I'm guessing it applies to any mouse button,
and it's about the "down" mouse event for a
button.

IOW, I'm guessing it applies to actions such
as pressing mouse-1 and dragging to another
position, as well as to actions such as
pressing mouse-3 (e.g. to extend the region
or to bring up a context menu or...).
