I'll send more advice on Wednesday for lack of time at the
moment.

May I in the meantime suggest you try version 0.8.4 which
contains quite a few bug fixes over 0.8.2 ?
You may have better success with a local database as the
public one is fairly slow from Brazil.
Also, you may want to consider getting in contact with
Rogerio (see CC) who's our GNUmed Master over in Brazil.
