This is very old and lacks lots of bug fixes (even within
the 0.6 branch there is 2 more releases which fixed bugs.)

The problem you saw:

with the Gelbe Liste/MMI installed under Wine has been fixed
in GNUmed 0.6.3:

        0.6.3

FIX: fail gracefully if cannot read MMI/Gelbe Liste data version file [thanks 
doogie]

So you'll have to either upgrade or actually install the
Gelbe Liste software under Wine.
