AFAIR, branch-2-0 needs fixes for serial number detection in libtoolize,
and a way to generate the libtool script before AC_OUTPUT before the
next alpha, and we are in good shape to release right? Is there anything
else I've forgotten?

These are the serious libtool 2.0 bugs which are bugging me:

o Static modules are not working for MinGW (static init order
   problem?).
 o LTDL_INSTALLABLE & LTDL_CONVENIENCE are completely broken (automake
   rejects libltdl/Makefile.am)
o Various targets refer to .libs rather than $objdir/.libs as the
location to place intermediate files. $objdir is from memory,
   maybe I mean something else.

The second bullet completely keeps me forward with incorporating libtool 2.0 in my project so it can be tested in the "real" world.
