http://code.google.com/p/lilypond/issues/detail?id=3312Issue 1787 is now going to be _really_ hard to deal with: here the position/thickness tradeoff of setstrokeadjust is not going to work either way. If the bar lines are stroke-adjusted, they won't reliably cover the ends from the staff lines. Bar lines currently don't have roundings of their own. I guess the only reasonable way is to give both staff lines as well as bar lines rounded ends and make them slightly too short: in that case the outer shape of the staff/barline corner will be hidden in the transition between two not-quite matching curves.
Either that, or we can't just place final barline and staff lines independently but instead need to design a graphics routine creating _both_ simultaneously. In that case we can first combine them and then clip the right border until the barline thickness is correct.
