Follow-up Comment #16, bug #47571 (project octave): To comment #14: After entering or copy&Pasting length('Müller') I get >> length('Mller') ans = 5 I also observed that an 'ä' is interpreted as deletion of the rest of a word. For example, if I enter 12345 67890 in the CLI, move the cursor between 2 and 3 and press 'ä' then 345 disappears. It seems that the umlauts are misinterpreted or not entered at all in the commend buffer of Octave in Windows.
