Follow-up Comment #13, bug #55178 (project octave): It is 5 years ago that I used matlab (2014b). At least I am sure never to be stopped in something like print_usage() but usually at a function call that is not part of the matlab distribution. I even believe to remember that there was some special (undocumented?) command at the beginning of core functions to avoid an error stop inside, something like onerror return . Current matlab documentation since 2016 does not say anything about this.
