@jwe: Your proposed change works for me on Windows 10 with Octave 6.4.0:

./Config: Can't locate ./Config at
C:\PROGRA~1\GNUOCT~1\OCTAVE~1.0\mingw64\bin\makeinfo line 345.

error: Invalid call to plot.  Correct usage is:

 -- plot (Y)
 -- plot (X, Y)
 -- plot (X, Y, FMT)
 -- plot (..., PROPERTY, VALUE, ...)
 -- plot (X1, Y1, ..., XN, YN)
 -- plot (HAX, ...)
 -- H = plot (...)
