It's supposed to work (I see in the changelog that I made a fix in 9.5i 
for Motif).

Is this OpenMotif or LessTif?

I usually just build the terminfo- and Xaw-flavors for general use, and 
make test-builds for everything when there's some configuration change (or 
nearing a release).
