Ok, last work for the day:

If we all agree on the compromise, here's what I suggest for the corrected 
measuring guidelines: 1m = 60 px in the x-dimension, and 1m = 40px in the 
y-dimension. These are rounded up, but they're only guidelines, and these 
numbers would be even easier to handle.
