We've never had any problems with them, other than the occasional 
hand-soldered prototype requiring rework.  We're currently using 6, 8 and 12 
MHz resonators with Mega16, Mega32, 90s8535, 90s4433, and Mega8535 designs.

We have had a problem with a certain brand of resonator failing to start 
when used with a certain non-AVR microcontroller, but I can't really comment 
on that because I don't really know the details.  My impression is that we 
got a bad batch of resonators.  This was a 4 MHz part.
