There are times when you don't want to have jack started. Maybe a popup is a 
better solution. But otherwise... maybe not. If Denemo fully depends on JACK 
than JACK has to be autostarted, off course. Or like other software just say 
"JACK is not started. All Playback and Recording features will not work. [Start 
JACK], [Continue without] [Quit]"

Are you aware that, if a JACKserver is running, is blocks other 
direct-driver-sound? This means once JACK is started neither the C-Sound 
playback nor the pitch-detection will work if they don't have a connection over 
JACK-Audio. Maybe Denemo could create the outputs to the system-channels 
automatically. The advantag is, that once this works Denemo has an 
Audio-Input-to-Notes automatically, which means that you could connect any 
audio-source via JACK to Denemo.
