I agree.  Brickle and I have been doing the automated recognition
and configuration aspects for quite a while (professionally) and
that is a neat first step for the USRP.  Where it goes from there,
is up to us all.

Cognitive radio in term's of Mitola's definition, with smart spectrum 
avoidance and spectral monitoring built in? Sounds like an interesting 
project. This rapidly turns into an AI problem with some very complex 
behaviors.
