Yes, exactly.
What if `inhibit-quit' is t?
Then the quit happens later.
The idea
of an escape route for the user is not a bad one, but I wonder if the
notion of "cancelling" is insufficiently generalizable to apply to just
any use of `y-or-n-p'.
Sure. When y-or-n-p uses the keyboard, you can type C-g to do so.
