Which means that you can be manipulated by them.  Indifference might
be a more prudent goal.

Another problem is that there are no guidelines to follow.  At the
moment, Richard is pretty much the only person who has an idea about
where a particular patch should end up, if at all.  Given the number
of Emacs developers, this situation would already constitute a
bottleneck even if he did not have so many other things to do than
work on Emacs.
