I didn't see it.  I assumed you were referring to:

            (digest_single_submenu, xmenu_show): Use ENCODE_MENU_STRING.

            * xfns.c (xic_defaut_fontset): New constant.
            (xic_create_fontsetname): New function.
            Extracted from create_frame_xic.  Try to generate a slightly
            better fontset.
            (xic_create_xfontset): Use it.
            (create_frame_xic): Simplify.

It's a pity if you again spent time on stuff I'd done before.
