It will be like Wikipedia in a way... equations will still be LaTeX
but structure like chapters/highlighted fonts will have their own
commands. you should be able to easily switch between "source" and
"book view" very easily.
it probably could be automated... but i'm going to use the
opportunity to let people get familiar with certain chapters by doing
it by hand. that way it'll be more likely that people will feel an
urge to edit it... as they go.
