Sadly that was *with* your patch.

Perhaps I should try your patch on Mac where everything seems more 
reliable. But on FreeBSD it seemed worse, I will test again.

IIRC, it is a detection problem and I proved that by forcing it I was 
able to connect, I need to recall.


clang static analyzer reports several potential problems in Pantomime. 
I think some of them should be addressed.
