Yeah, right.  You've obviously never had the privilege of hanging out
with a bunch of freeters in a blues bar in rural Ibaraki.  The
language is far more complex than the music.  (Not to mention the -ppe
stuff that doesn't appear in any textbook I've seen.  :-)

But fun!  I feel sorry for those 7-year-olds, though.  No edict.el,
and no stroke-recognizing Zaurus.

Avoid Nelson, except for advanced study.  For basic vocabulary, use a
kanwa dictionary.  Slow at first, but the collateral damage to the
kanji in the definitions adds up at exponential pace, and you find
yourself spending very little extra time at each level, while you can
destroy 23-hit-point, er, -stroke, kanji with a single motion.
