What, it's not possible that we voted not to have a configuration value?

        It's certainly possible, but completely unrelated to anything I said.

I hate most configuration values. See "Flexibility Syndrome" or "Let's Do Both Disease," a frequent correlation of "design by committee".

I think it's equally bad to bend the tools to fit your workflow when there seems no need. Tape the tools together if you always use them simultaneously. If it becomes popular to tape them, come back and try again.

Isn't that one of the reasons this list exists? If nobody else could say they could benefit from having an integration of make-log and commit, then this would clearly be an issue where the user should do it himself for his own environment. That doesn't seem to be the case here.

I enjoy writing flexible software that can meet the needs of many different types of users. I don't think that's something should be expressly avoided.
