That's a fair assessment. I do think, however, that its worth noting
that, slow moving or otherwise, diff and patch *are* moving targets. The
problem is slighly worsened by the fact that we're *very* specific about
patch and diff utilities.

A few months ago I was on on an openbsd system that was so old.. (HOW old
was it?), that the console didn't even support color!
