They are not the same.  This will result in a missing patchlog.  Which 
means that "tla replay $(tla tree-version)" will do very bad things.  In 
general, you should never delete the patchlogs for the current tree 
version.  Missing patchlogs can also break log-for-merge, commit -s and 
new-merges.
